ABBA the Museum and the Vasa Museum Reopen!

After months of sad news, finally some good news (especially for summer visitors)... the last two of the major Stockholm museums have announced their reopening dates! The amazing Vasa Museum will be reopening on May 19th and the fun ABBA the Museum will reopen on May 27th. Most museums, as elsewhere in the world, have been closed through large parts of the pandemic. Over the past two months, slowly but surely, museums here have started to reopen. Click here to see the full list.

Two smaller museums, the Stockholm City Museum and the Medieval Museum, still haven't announced their reopening dates. We will just have to wait and see if they will reopen this summer or if they, like the Nobel Museum, will decide to wait until the end of the summer. Otherwise, the final holdouts are the Royal Palace and the Drottningholm Palace. Happily, however, they have announced that they will indeed be open to visitors this summer but will announce dates and opening hours a little later in May. Stay tuned... (EDIT: the Royal palace is now open and Drottningholm Palace will open on June 28th. Check their websites, linked above, for exact opening hours).

Now, even though museums are reopening, keep in mind that restrictions will still be in place to fight the spread of Covid-19. Be sure to follow the museum's rules regarding the safety for their patrons when you visit (spacing between visitors, number of visitors allowed, masks, etc.). And stay home if you feel at all unwell.
